Hi! Welcome to my blog, where I will be sharing recipes to my favorite baking and cooking recipes!
Why do I bake?
Growing up, my dream was to be a chef who owned her own resturaunt. I started watching cooking shows from an incredibly young age. Instead of a cartoon on a saturday morning I was busy watching “Giada at Home,” on Food Network. Now as I study to be an archaeologist, the two professions couldn’t be further from eachother. However, some things never change, and I have maintained my passion for baking and cooking. I grew up in a house that always had a busy kitchen. Over the years my dad taught me how to cook, and I have turned that knowledge into other recipes and techniques that I have come to love aswell. Some of my favorite recipes my dad has taught me include turkey rice soup, baked mac and cheese, and a million different ways to cook the fish we caught growing up.
When I was a kid my mom, aunt, grandma, and great grandma taught me how to bake many family recipes. Through the knowledge of many generations, I started baking with the women of my family around the age of five. Around Christmas time the family would get together and bake many of my favorite goodies; these treats would include peanut brittle (made perfectly by my mom everytime), chocoalte covered everything, and so many more classic christmas treats.
Through the COVID-19 lock downs, I also taught myself how to bake many types of bread, cookies, and cake. I have worked in kitchens since I was 18 years old, once at a diner were I learned how to bake different pies. I have brought my own ideas and thoughts to recipes to make them the best and easiest ways I can, making most of my recipes perfect for beginner bakers.
